Fred Armisen to release new Vinyl Album: 100 Sound Effects

The comedian and SNL alumnus recently joined Stephen Colbert on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and shared that he will be releasing his latest project, "100 Sound Effects", on September 26th, 2025. (The vinyl actually boasts 101 sound effects!)

Some of the title tracks include: “Needle on Record,” “Drum Sound Check at Medium Sized Venue,” “Guitar Tuned but Still Somehow Out of Tune,” “Band Sound Check Sound Guy and Band Agreeing for Too Long,” “Romanian Crowd at Rock Club Shouting for an Encore,” “Sparsely Attended Show Encore With Someone Shouting ‘Where’s Jim?’,” and “Music Venue Employee Kicking Everyone Out While Throwing Away Bottles.”

Armisen explained that the idea for this album was inspired by Halloween sound effect albums, the kind featuring moans of haunted ghouls and creaking doors.

I'm a huge admirer of the art of the folie, so I'm thrilled to hear that Armisen is entering this unexplored market. I'm especially eager to discover what the 101 bonus track entails.

TOUR

Armisen is going on tour in September, called: Comedy for Musicians (but everyone is welcome).
