About me

Welcome to my blog!
My name is Brenda Medrano- Perdue.
I was born in 1996 (to no fault of my own), and raised in Gainesville Florida—
A small college town in the center of North Florida.
Since 2022- I've been living in Chicago, Illinois with my husband,Ty, Our unit of a cat, Roscoe, and our shadow of a dog, Tillie.

I created this corner of the internet to share my reflections on life and the personal experiences that shape my identity as both a writer and an individual, and connect with fellow creators along the way.
In 2020, I graduated with my degree in Health Services Administration. I've since worked in Children's Hospitals in both Florida and Chicago. I love the work I do- The patients and families I get to help, and the colleagues I've come to know- But, the hours are long, and the work is never done!
My true passions lie in my hours outside of the office. When I clock out, and get to dive into my writing and creativity. Growing up, it was the books I read and the stories I wrote that took me on my favorite adventures, fueling my desire for a life full of exploration. I’ve spent my life chasing stories, and what I’ve learned so far is this: everybody has something to teach us. Everybody has a story worth telling.
This space is where I share mine. It’s a mix of everything I love—celebrating family and friendships, chasing dreams, finding resilience in tough times, and cherishing the little joys that make life, Life.Whether it’s a piece of advice I’ve learned the hard way, a moment of inspiration from someone I admire, or just something that made me smile today, my hope is that you’ll find a little bit of light here.
If you can relate to the overwhelming drudge of existing in a restless world that is a mosaic of contradictions, the pressures can feel like an unending treadmill, leaving us drained. This realization led me to a simple conclusion:
I Don't Work Here
This mindset guides me through life— not the literal sense, but as a reminder that I am not bound by life's rigid expectations. At our core, I believe most of us are simply NOT employees of life. Beyond fulfilling our duties, we often find ourselves losing sense of our passion. It's truly a crime.
But, this life we live is both random and profoundly meaningful. I encourage all to embrace it with humor and a curious mind. Truly,I believe that we are shaped by every person and experience along the journey.
I invite you to join me, and be a part of it.

Love always,
Brenda
